Elastic Volume Storage (EVS)
Elastic Volume Storage (EVS)
Definition
- Elastic Volume Service (EVS) is a virtual block storage service, which provides block storage space for Elastic Cloud Servers (ECSs) and Bare Metal Servers (BMSs)
- You can create EVS disks on the console and attach them to ECSs and BMSs
Functions
- Elastic attaching and detaching: You can attach or detach a disk from an instance and attach the disk to another instance
- Various disk types: The read/write performance of an upper layer service does not match that of the storage medium used by the service, you can change the disk type to change the read/write performance of the storage medium to meet the requirements
- Scalability: You can configure storage capacity and expand the capacity on demand to deal with your service data increase
Application Scenarios
- Relational Database: You can use the disk type with ultra-high performance to meeting the high requirements for low latency and high I/O performance in data-intensive scenarios, such as relational databases
- Enterprise Application System: Mission-critical applications of enterprises are deployed on these disk type with medium performance
